Conceptual design of a character created by myself & friend & colleague, Bobby Rubio. I did this during some downtime while working at Six Point Harness. I started out in Flash, then exported the XLR8 character design to a .bmp file & touched it up in Photoshop. The wallpaper & glowing effects were added in Photoshop.

This is the original sketch.

But I learned later that the dress (called "hakama") normally falls to the floor. So with the magic of Photoshop, I corrected the drawing by erasing the feet & stretching out the hakama to give more authenticity to the sketch.

Hunchback of Notre Dame II storyboards

Yes, Hunchback of Notre Dame has a sequel. What animated Disney film from the nineties didn't have a sequel? Anyway, this is a section of a sequence in the climax of the film which I worked on. I did this sometime around 1998.

Occasionally I will sit at my desk when there is some downtime & I will begin sketching on my yellow post-its. In this particular sketch, I was thinking about Miller's Sin City and began sketching some character who would live in that world. Obviously, I altered the yellow to white & increased the contrast on Photoshop.

I actually did this sketch for a friend & I got a little carried away with the bloodiness of it. This is one of my personal favorite drawings. Too bad I don't own the original.

This brutal sketch was inspired by the film Scarface, one of my 10 favorite films of all-time. Sometimes, I find humor in violence, especially when it is extreme. This particular sketch, for some morbid reason, makes me chuckle. Oh, and I will be posting more of my violent sketches down the road, which may shock some people.
